i sat and listened to this song on repeat a dozen times or more trying to pull out a specific memory that this, my favorite song in the whole wide world, stirred in me.

and without warning, while i’m sifting through all of the happiness this song evokes for me, a feeling that can most closely be described as groove opens up and pulls me under. everything else fades away and even the manic, hidden corners of my mind become saturated by the rythm.

my heart speeds and the bass line takes over it’s beat. somehow, the song begins to feel like a part of me. my head bobs, my toes tap, the lyrics run through my head, every inflection in anthony’s voice memorized and i do my best to harmonize.

i am swallowed by it.

and it is the greatest peace in the world.
